Child and adolescent mental health care in Delhi and online

Children and teenagers go through big changes, and it is not always easy to tell a passing phase from something that needs help. Changes in behaviour, mood, sleep, eating or school can all be signs that a young person is struggling.

Dr. Aditya VohraMBBS, MD (Psychiatry), Psychiatrist in New Delhi

Care is gentle, involves the parents, and is shaped around the child's age and needs.

Common signs

  • Lasting sadness, irritability or anger
  • Withdrawing from friends or family
  • Refusing to go to school, or a drop in school work
  • Changes in sleep or eating
  • Worries or fears that get in the way of daily life
  • Self-harm, or talk of not wanting to live

When to see a psychiatrist

Seek help if changes last for more than a few weeks, affect school or family life, or if a young person talks about self-harm.

In danger right now? Call 112, or Tele-MANAS on 14416. Outside India, call your local emergency number.

How he can help

The first consultation includes time with the parents and, where suitable, time with the young person alone. A plan can include therapy, guidance for the family, work with the school and, only where needed, medicine.

  1. 1

    Ask for a time

Fill in the short form below, or call or write. Say whether you would like to meet online or in person, and how soon.

  2. 2

    Confirm the slot

The clinic team confirms a time and tells you the fee before anything is fixed.

  3. 3

    First consultation

An unhurried conversation about what is happening, how long it has been going on and what you want to change. Bring any earlier prescriptions or reports.

  4. 4

    A plan you understand

Together we agree on next steps. That can combine medicine, therapy with a psychologist and regular follow-up, explained in plain words.

In person or online

Timings: Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 9 pm IST, by appointment. Closed on Sundays.
