Care for your mental and emotional wellbeing that starts with your story, not just your symptoms.
I'm a psychiatrist in private practice in New Delhi, for whatever you are going through. I see people in person at Dr. Vohra's Emotional Wellness Hub in East Patel Nagar, and online by video or voice call anywhere in the world, in English or Hindi.
I trained in medicine at Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Jamia Hamdard, and in psychiatry at D. Y. Patil University, Navi Mumbai. I then worked in addiction psychiatry at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital, and as a Senior Resident at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), Delhi.
Dr. Vohra's was founded in 1998 by my father, psychiatrist Dr. Sandeep Vohra. I watched his clinical work long before I understood its depth, and today I practise alongside him.
Outside the clinic I speak and teach, from the World Psychiatric Association's Early Career Psychiatrists Section to medical colleges across Delhi.
Diagnosis is rarely just about symptoms, it is about stories. It is about sitting with uncertainty, holding silence, and earning trust.

Depression, burnout and anxiety do not spare psychiatrists or physicians. The compassion we ask patients to show themselves, we owe to our colleagues and to ourselves. Seeking help is a healthcare decision, not a weakness.

The six-pack standard
Social media sells men a body built on restrictive diets, overtraining and sometimes drugs. Aim instead for stamina, strength, mobility and sleep, habits that last rather than a look that does not.

Schizophrenia rarely begins suddenly
It often starts quietly: withdrawal, suspicion, sleeping differently, not seeming like oneself. Families notice that something has changed. Seeking help at that stage leads to a much better outlook.

Burnout is more than a definition
It is the doctor who once cared deeply and now feels numb. Recovery starts with small corrections: sleep, regular meals, a few close people, exercise, boundaries and asking for help early.

Names shape how people are treated
The renaming of PCOS is a lesson for psychiatry: say a person with schizophrenia or with a substance use disorder, not a label that becomes their whole identity.

There is no single best therapist
The relationship between client and therapist is one of the strongest predictors of progress. A mismatch is a common reason therapy stalls, and changing to a better fit is part of good care.

"Be strong, you're a man" needs to change
Many men reach their lowest point with almost no one to talk to. It should be normal to say: you are human, it is all right to feel weak, to fail and to ask for help.
